For years, Team Paradox supporters have pushed for a permanent, purpose-built space for robotics at San Dieguito Academy. That vision is closer to reality than it has ever been, and what happens next depends on our community showing up.

Here's the News

SDUHSD is placing a bond proposal on the Fall 2028 ballot, and right now, the district is building the Facilities Master Plan that will determine which projects are included. As of the committee meeting in late March, a dedicated Robotics building is on the map at SDA.

The current plan calls for replacing an existing building with a brand-new facility designed specifically for Team Paradox and the future of robotics at SDA. The proposed space includes:

  • A full-sized practice field
  • Team storage
  • A workshop
  • At least 10 computer stations
  • A potential mini-metals setup
This is exactly what our program needs, and exactly what our community has been asking for.

Why This Moment Matters

The Facilities Master Plan is not final. Projects can be added, changed, or removed before the bond reaches the ballot. If the Robotics building doesn't make the final cut, another opportunity like this may not come for 15 to 20 years.

We cannot afford to let this one pass.

What You Can Do Right Now

The district is holding a community meeting to gather input on the SDA Facilities Master Plan. This is our chance to show (in numbers) how much the SDA community values Team Paradox and the FIRST Robotics program.

COMMUNITY MEETING
Monday, May 11th | 6:00 PM Mustang Commons, San Dieguito Academy

rsvp here
We need team members, parents, mentors, alumni, friends, and extended family to fill that room. Every person who walks through the door sends a message to the committee: this program matters, this community is behind it, and this building belongs in the plan.

Wear your yellow Team Paradox shirt. A sea of yellow is worth a thousand words.

Be There. Be Loud. Wear Yellow.

This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for robotics at SDA. Let's make sure the committee sees exactly who this future building is for.

Mark your calendar. Spread the word. Show up on May 11th.

The case for this building isn't just about square footage, it's about what happens to students inside it. Team Paradox has launched careers, built leaders, formed lifelong friendships, and opened doors that students didn't even know existed.

We want to hear from you.

Whether you're a current student, a parent who watched your kid come alive on this team, or an alumnus who traces your career path back to a robot and a yellow shirt, your story matters. And it could help make this building a reality.

Share how Team Paradox has shaped your life:

  • 🎓 Students & Alumni: Did robotics influence your college path, career choice, or the skills you use every day?
  • 👪 Parents: What have you witnessed in your student that you didn't expect? What has this team given them?
  • 🤝 Mentors & Community Members: Why do you give your time to this program — and what do you see it doing for kids?
